1970 2WD Project
OK so I am gathering parts for my 1970 2WD restoration. It will be a full body off media blasted process….
My plans are to build with minor modifications, nothing that can't be reversed. First off I need doors, mine are pretty rough - I have located a set of really clean 72 pickup / suburban doors that I was going to cut down. My question is it really a big deal that they will be 72 doors with the added screw below the wing window for support from GM or should I look for the correct style. Looking for a 1972 single wall top as it has no top - again preference. It has a 67 front clip on it now and I will be using this as I prefer the look... I will be also adding disc brakes on all 4 wheels with 5 bolt lug pattern. Drop spindles on front and lowered in the rear…. I wouldn't think that any future Buyer would walk away due to these mods? And finally it will be a LSx conversion - too much benefit not to go this route and again if someone had to they could reverse it to conventional V8 Thoughts? Suggestions? |

Re: 1970 2WD Project
Sounds like a solid plan, more power with better brakes, if you build it right then you will enjoy driving it! then forget ever selling it in the future. Build what you want, I regret not going with a modern drive train. Only suggestion don't leave the seats till last and get 3 pt seat belts.....Is this an original 2wd, where were the shocks mounted in the rear? and Take plenty of photo's.
