1959 Positraction Rears
With regards to a 1959 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup, I see in the shop manual and on the option list, positraction rears were available for this model. I've never even heard of someone having one or saw one listed on a 59. Has anyone ever actually seen or know of anyone having one? Must be extremely rare, Just wondering.

Re: 1959 Positraction Rears
They are rare, most guys swap out the rear without ever looking to see if they had a posi unit. I do know some that have had them but I've been doing this for many many years and have yet to see one from 55-60's era from a truck so I think it was an option that wasn't often ordered

ButchP,
Could you possibly post a photo of the unit. Does it look like a regular truck center section? Does it have a "P" cast into the case like a passenger car posi rear? It would be interesting to actually see one. |
