I was watching a Barrett Jackson auction this morning and saw this come across. It is a '75 K5 Blazer all original with 52 actual miles sold new in New York. It's hard to believe there are still survivors out there. Even had the original tires on it. I had an '86 K5 that I really liked, but mine was a little worse condition than this one Lol. Just thought you guys would appreciate this one.

Yeah that's what I thought also. There were some nice rides went thru that an ordinary person could afford. And really that Blazer would have been a decent buy considering the cost of a frame up, nut and bolt restoration.

Yeah I thought that Blazer went for a fair price considering originality is at a premium right now. I keep waiting for the "auction" bubble to burst, hopefully it's trending back down for a while.

a little more than one mile a year.. Yeah that is a lot of enjoyment.. I do a mile going up the street to the grocery store..

But who says you have to drive it to enjoy it?

Personal anecdote: I have a '65 GTO which is in original, unrestored condition ("born with" paint, interior and driveline), with 5000 miles on it. I inherited it from my dad, who was the original owner; it sat during my growing up years with 4656.2 miles on it (for probably 25 years).

I take it to local shows, invitation only concours events, indoor muscle car shows, historic venues and pure stock drags. It's been featured in books and magazines and replicated in scale. I have photos of it at the original selling dealership and display it there during the Woodward Dream Cruise. I sit on discussion panels related to historic vehicles and factory lightweight racers. I use it as a reference to field phone calls and emails from other owners who have technical questions on factory build documentation or how things were assembled/routed originally. I take it to the hardware store or out to lunch when I feel like it.

None of these activities necessarily rack up a lot of miles - roughly 400 miles over the last 10 years - but it's still a lot of fun.

My wife will say things like "...you should get rid of that thing and let someone else enjoy it!".

My response is that I do enjoy it and why should I get rid of it if merely seeing it sit in the garage makes me smile? My car = my call.

My point is that I get a bit testy when other people attempt to dicatate how I should enjoy my stuff. Perhaps this original owner felt the same way.

PS - it still goes 12.40's @ 107 mph, even launching easy and short shifting at 6000 rpm.

Not quite as significant as Keiths GTO, but I bought my wife a 2002 Harley Edition F150 Crewcab. It was strictly a garage toy that she drove on rare occasions when the weather was nice. She LOVED to show her lady friends in their exotic luxury cars her hot rod truck and knew quite a bit about the rarity of it, and the supercharged motor.

In 2010 we had a gentleman contact us that was looking for the exact truck we had. He asked if he could make an offer. He made a very generous offer, and we accepted it. He flew in from California to pick it up. On the way to the bank to confirm the funds, the truck rolled 1800 miles. The new owner drive it back to California and doubled the mileage along the way.

He sent me an email saying of all the high end exotic cars and custom cars and bikes he had owned, this was the most fun to drive. He enjoyed it immensely putting miles on it, and my wife took great pleasure in the trips she enjoyed.

You dont always have to drive a truck to enjoy a truck. Sometimes just the fact that you own it brings great pleasure.

Yea I agree to each their own. I enjoy cruising and putting miles on my own rigs. I have never owned anything as nice or as original as the Blazer or GTO. That seems like a really fair price for that K-5 though compared to a frame off resto.
