LS/Vortec Swap ??
I've read a bunch of threads on this swap but don't have a definitive answer to the exhaust manifold question of do I need to replace the stock ones or not? 63 Suburban getting a 2004 Suburban 5.3 package. Is there a variable there depending on what mounting kit I use or.......? Some kits have headers included. Just trying to keep costs down.....thanks!

Re: LS/Vortec Swap ??
From my recent LS swap experience the stock truck manifolds will not fit inside the frame rails of a '62 C10, that being said the '63 frame may be wider at that point. I ended up using 2010 Camaro manifolds and I have very little room between the flanges and the frame rails. I did not modify the '62 frame but do have a crossmember swap from a '78 in mine...get the whole donor if you can you can also sell it for parts later.

Re: LS/Vortec Swap ??
The truck manifolds would not clear the frame on my 66'. I used Trailblazer SS manifolds. I have read some people notching the frame in order to run the truck manifolds. I'm not sure on the kits I used dirty dingo sliders with my stock 66 motor mounts. I did have to use a Camaro oil pan to clear the crossmember.
There is a lot of great information in the LS swap sub forum http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...play.php?f=206

Re: LS/Vortec Swap ??
Could you post a pitcure of how the muscle car pan fits ? I am curious if it hangs below the crossmember at all with the dirty dingo mounts.
