bare chassis protection ?

I was working on my C10 chassis today and took a few areas down to bare metal.. what type of protection do I need to keep it from rusting again until I get done with the entire chassis which is going to take me a while....

I use rustoleum red primer and in hard to get to areas I like the etching primer.

what if I'm not sure if I'm going to paint or powder coat the chassis yet? I need to know what I can put on that won't affect my next step.

If you go powder coat they may not all do it this way but my guy will only p-coat sandblasted metal..in that case it won't matter.if you go paint you can paint right over the primer with only a light scuff..if your going to sandblast before paint it won't matter either.
