4L80 vs 6L80 bellhousing size
Hi all,
I don't have or know anyone with a 4L80 so I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a difference in the bellhousing size of the 4L80 vs 6L80? Thanks in advance. Ben

Re: 4L80 vs 6L80 bellhousing size
Hey Ben, the bell housings are the same size I believe. What is larger is the case just below the housing. On the 6L80e bell housing it doesn't get as small at the shifter linkage are as the 4L80e.
I can get you a picture of a 4L80e but would have to be later tonight. The picture is the rear view of a 6L80E

This is the rear view of a 4L60E.
Not sure this helps but thought I would add it.

Re: 4L80 vs 6L80 bellhousing size
Dumb question: Do you not have a tail shaft on the trans or are you installing this in a 4x4? if you installing into a 4x4 why do you have the driveline part installed?

Re: 4L80 vs 6L80 bellhousing size
Maybe this will explain it.
It went into a c10 with a 2 piece drive shaft. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=612542

Re: 4L80 vs 6L80 bellhousing size
Thanks for the help all, they appear to be the same size or at least very close.
Much appreciated! Ben
