Need help from the photo shop and CNC guys
I'm looking for ideas on some custom fender badges for my '67 restomod , I'm dropping a date coded '67 427 tri power engine in and want to have some custom badges milled , As far as I can remember there was never a Corvette tri power badge made , Any suggestions ???

Re: Need help from the photo shop and CNC guys
I did a little search and only saw the air cleaner sticker. Its kinda busy for a fender badge. Lots of words. Just thinking of things to use...C-427, 427 3x2, Red bowtie checkered flags?

I think I saw one on that corvette-optioned truck somewhere... it looked like this if I recall...

http://www.billetbadges.com/#high-qu...custom-emblems
http://www.billetbadges.com/#high-qu...custom-emblems I'm not sure if this will help, these are just a couple of custom places I found on the Internet. I never used them, I just came across them when I was looking for custom badges for my 496. Maybe you can send them a picture of what Dazza made and they can send you a quote. Let us know your outcome.

If that's the case Grumpy, we need to make it exactly like you want it.

Grumpy....
I may be able to hook you up...........the badge itself would be fairly straightforward and simple.....the crossed flag detail is another story. It will require finding or creating some rather intricate 3D geometry...once that was established, the machining would be fairly easy. I have a bunch of ¼" thick scrap brass plate.....and a good source for electroless nickel plating.

Iam sure their nickel would be great, but any information you can share would help educate me. Thanks in advance and I apologize for going off topic. |

I'm interested in a piece of that brass plate for as a backer for welding up moulding holes and definetly interested in the emblems pending costs , Grumpys still on a budget after sending the 427's and tri power intakes out for rebuild , Ms Grumpy said I don't get to go on vacation this year already ! Re: Need help from the photo shop and CNC guys
Electrolytic nickel is deposited using DC current, while Electroless Ni is an autocatalytic deposition. Electroless Ni produces plating of uniform thickness all over the part, while electrolytic Ni plates a thicker deposit in high current density areas.
It also provides a very hard surface......about 58 Rockwell C....I have several customers that require ENi on some 12L14 steel parts. There are plating shops all over the country that do ENi.....I am in Tennessee...the local shop I use is Volunteer Metal Finishing in Vonore, TN. 423-884-2340. These guys do a great job. Of course, as you know, any plating only looks as good as the part that it's plated over. So many people think that plating itself creates the nice shiny surface....but it's the polishing prior to plating that makes the nice shine.....!

Also I think a piece of copper would work better as back up for welding.....I have that too.....

I can import into my CAM software and machine in 3D....it's not as friendly on creating the geometry....

Barters always better ! You would not believe the things I've bartered for custom upholstery work . The best was a 23 ' center consol boat with a 250 Yamaha towards a Cessna 414 aircraft interior ! tools/ equipment/ guns even a black angus heifer ! Haha This is probably the last truck I'll go this far with , the power rear window , custom all leather interior On custom made bucket seats and consol , 427 Tri power with a Muncie rock crusher and 3.73 posi the paint , top and bottom will be Nuclear sunset mango pearl sitting on 20" Cragers Just a really nice around town cruiser ...I'm only 1/2 hr away from Pigeon Forge so it will see a lot of the shows around here .
