Is this the pan kit I need for my build?

2006 4.8L Vortec
Going in a 65 C10 that is bagged.


Will this pan fit my 4.8? Or is it for a 5.3? I figured I would ask the forum. Since a phone call wouldnt work at this hour.

T will fit your engine, but since the truck is bagged it might not be the best option because it may hang down a little too much depending onhow the engine is mounted.

I used that pan on my swap (static drop).....if you plan on laying the truck on the rails, you would probably like the F body pan. the hotrod pan hangs about 1" below the cross member in my truck.....longhorn

That might not be to bad if you can position the engine higher. Where is the dipstick on yours? In the block or pan?

Does yours lay frame?
Is yours a 4.8 or does it matter between 4.8 and 5.3?
What engine mounts are you using? Homemade mounts?

4.8 and 5.3 are the same engine block wise, just so you know.

What he said. My truck doesn't lay frame, but it's low enough that I didn't want the pan to hang below the crossmember. I used eBay conversion plates and a set of new factory rubber mounts for a SBC. I think they are made by ICT BILLET

Get the Camaro pan. That seems to be what most are successfully using. Mine is not too low but I like the fact it is above the cross member. Plus you can keep the engine as low as possible, that will help on the hump clearances as well.
