Big cam & power brakes?
I drove a truck that had a 305 cam in it with power brakes. The brake system looked new but didn't work well. Could this be because of the cam or is the power brake booster bad (it is the only thing not new)? The pedal goes down fine but does not come right back up and doesn't stop well. I would like some input on the problem before I buy the truck. Should this need a vac canister?

if you were having a vacume problem, then the pedal would be hard, like when the engine is off.
Sounds like you are having a booster problem to me. By 305 cam, you don't mean a cam from a 305 small block do you? |

Got a *305 cam in a SWB, I have got a vacuum canister on it and it works very well. I do not have any problems with it but the brake system is all new.

I've got a 306 duration cam with a stock break system and haven't really had any problems. the pedal's a little hard now and then but the breaks seem to work fine.
