1966 C10 283 with Flowtech #11500 FLT

Hello,
I am searching new Long Tube Headers for my 1966 Chevy c10 with the 283 V8 and the 3 on the tree tranny linkage at the steering collum. Did anyone know if the Headers from Flottech #11500 FLT interference with the Linkage of the Transmission ?

Thank you all verry verry much

Greetings from Germany.

Nils

I do not know if those headers will clear the clutch bellcrank. But for a little more money, these are the headers made to fit the '63-'66 trucks.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hed-69260

You can also use Hedman #69090, but things with the bellcrank are a little tighter.

Yes, the Hedman Headers looks great. The Problem is that i only get the Flowtech Headers in Germany. The shipping Costs to Germany are high for big Headers.

Thank you verry much.

Greetings

Aahhhh I understand!

I just went to Summit Racing's website and compared the Flowtech headers to the Hedman 69090 headers using their 360* view. I think the bellcrank will fit between the block and the frame, but I think on the flowtech headers, the #7 tube will be in the way of the arm on the bellcrank and the linkage to the fork. You might be able to cut the arm off and reweld in back in a different location. I just can not say for certain if they will work. I wish I had a better answer for you.

Those flowtech will work fine, I prefer the Headman, but you can't go wrong with either of them.

Are you using the Flowtech's with a manual trans in a '63-'66?

Re: 1966 C10 283 with Flowtech #11500 FLT

I think about it and i prefer the Hedman Headers # 69260. I have only one Question befor i buy it from Summit. On the Webside from Classic Industries is the following text with the Hedman Headers:

Manual Transmission with Floor Shift Only

I Have the 3 on the tree Transmission. Are you sure that it fits with the two linkage from the Steering Colum ?

Thank you verry verry much.

The headmans go plenty low enough to allow for the shift linkage, they will run down at the base of trans. And drop down straight at the eng. Crossmember. The collectors and pipes running to the mufflers can be fabbed in in many angles to clear the trans crossmember. Mine has cut outs for the pipes and then kick out at 45 angles in front of the rear tires

Oh, also if you look at the two different headers they are of the same basic design, length collector size, primary and mounting flange.

I have only used the Hedman 69260's with a floor shifted manual trans, but I really don't see where there would be an issue with a column shifted trans. Here is a couple pics of the Hedman 69260's.
