Diagnose this brake wear.
Never seen this kind of pattern before. Why the apparent "hot spots" spaced evenly every three to four inches around drum? No other strange wear present.

Looks like your seals have been leaking for a long time and the wear may have been grease getting on your shoes and making hots spots. They may seem to be evenly spaced but could just be random from the shuttering of the shoes.

Stopping power proved a little weak after many stops in traffic or downhill braking, but no off-balance shimmy or grabbiness at all. Shoes are bonded, not riveted, and not too thin, so the narrow stripe of strange wear seems ...well, strange. Not sure how to determine if shoes have been greased from leaky seals, but they appear dry. Dark maybe, but dry.
