K-Series Parking Brake Cables Dana 60

I have the stock Dana 60 in the rear of my truck. Currently only 1 parking brake cable is attached. I would like to purchase 2 new cables and install. Only problem I am having is figuring out which length is used on long beds? Also, is there a preferred brand?

I went through the same thing, and didn't get any answers. I checked out the Inline Tube website, and found they have specific listings for everything.

The chart shows that 1000, 1500, K-1000 and K-1500 GMC trucks came with Spicer rear axle's which are dana's.

Re: K-Series Parking Brake Cables Dana 60

Front cable is 3860946 GMC & Chevrolet front cable K10 & K20. Same part number in the Canadian Parts Book as well as the American.

Rear Cables are a mystery, as I don't know the 1965 GMC parts Book at all.
There's listings for K10, K15 & K40? No mention of a K20 or K25.

Re: K-Series Parking Brake Cables Dana 60

I guess technically I have a K15 which would be the Dana 60 3/4 ton of the day. What would my long bed require based on that list though?

Re: K-Series Parking Brake Cables Dana 60

65 2 2441905 K15--#20896-1*ON REAR AXLE* 5/16-24 THD, 74-1/16 LONG

The 2 would indicate that two cables would be required, therefore there is no left or right.
5/16-24 if like the Chevy would be the threaded part of the cable at the cross member but #20896-1? Would that be a reference to the way it attaches to the rear brake shoe?

74 1/16" LONG according to the info in the parts book
