Mysterious mounting spot on middle of firewall
This is the interior, right in the center of the firewall, right above the trans hump.
Anyone know what would have gone here? It's a 1970 C10, has factory 4 season AC. I figure it might have been some kind of AC related relay maybe, but it's mounted in a place that's kind of easy to see, not neatly tucked out of the way. But half of the AC system is taken out so I don't know what it could be. The factory service manual shows an AC relay tucked away on the right side behind the dash. So I really have no idea, hoping some bros might know |

Re: Mysterious mounting spot on middle of firewall
On my 68 C10 that hole is for the left side mounting point for the inner heater box. Mine is a non A/C but I think the mounting points would be the same

Re: Mysterious mounting spot on middle of firewall
Something has melted the insulation on your green and brown wires, which are either heater or headlights. Looks like a short waiting to happen, you might want to tape those up.

Re: Mysterious mounting spot on middle of firewall
Thanks guys, and I hadn't even noticed the wires. The wiring harness is generally in shambles. I'll be taking a closer look at a lot of the exposed parts.
