Re: Old member, new truck

So I spent Fri night and today at work finally getting my truck lowered. I'll have tire money for my 338's by the end of the month. I'm no high roller, so I gotta do things on the cheap. I did a timing belt in a coworkers Tundra to buy spindles ($239 from Summit) , got a set of axles saddles from Summit for $11, and got Belltech Street and Performance shocks also from Summit for roughly $230 to the door. The notch was made out of material at work.

Re: Old member, new truck

DJM 3" spindles. I cut a coil off the springs too. This was before I trimmed the gutters back on the lower control arms to clear the rally's.

Re: Old member, new truck

I feel like it may need more low, but no decision will be made until I get the wheels on.

On a side note, my girlfriend and I got back together, so that worked out well. I got my girl back and got a Square. I still have a few things I want to do, so progress will only be slowed by money.

Which you might very well find less of now that she's back. LOL.

I'm sorry. I really need to stop blaming all women for the sins of the narcissist I was married to. LMAO

The front seems to be 5'', the rear also has drop shackles on it, I'm thinking its closer to 8''.

Thanks guys. The girlfriend is very supportive of my hobby and always has been, so that helps a ton!

Re: Old member, new truck

Nice tig on that axle. You might want to pull a leaf (or three) if you don't plan on towing. It will soften up your ride dramatically.

Re: Old member, new truck

Thanks for all the kind words.

I completely lost track of time and my summer and forgot to update this with pics of my new wheels. I went with 245/40's on the front and 275/40's on the rear. I've been driving this truck daily and have put thousands of miles on it so far...and I love it!

Other side. Also got the windows tinted, and installed a MB Quart amp and 10" JL Audio sub behind the seat.

Re: Old member, new truck

Super nice work on that truck! I am impressed, you traded your girlfriend for a cool truck and then she came back! That rocks!

I am more impressed by people who can build a nice vehicle on the cheep vs. some rich person who pays mega cash to get it all done.

Keep up the great work and post up some more pics of the truck with nice scenery around, I bet it looks even better at a park of by the lake or something...
