Re: What are you using for throttle cable

I used the cable from a 01 truck on my 81...had to file the firewall hole a little bit but it worked perfect.

Re: What are you using for throttle cable

I think I gave 5 bucks for it at a junkyard..I just held a piece of paper up to the firewall and traced a pattern for the firewall hole and transferred it to my 81 over that cable hole and then opened what needed removed with a file..the ls cable just snapped in place..my gas pedal was already a cable pedal..if yours is a rod type you might want to grab the pedal to..

I already switched over to cable when I had injection on the BB. I work at an auto parts store, I'll see if they can get it. If not I'm off to the wrecking yard
Thanks
Steve

Re: What are you using for throttle cable

my truck is 76-ish we used the cable that came with the 2002 engine

the metal cable was a little bit to long where it hooks to the gas pedal and I just looped it around a 9mm socket and used a cable clamp to take up the slack.
