My new 72

Here's a tease. Just got it. Big block 396. I know not original. No rust except under chrome lip on tailgate and one bubble on door sill. One very slight crease on pass door lower corner. Paid the 7500 no dickering. He was selling it for old guy and had 5 calls while I paid deposit.

Warn winch. Needs correct seats and has decent blue/silver paint job. Same owner 30 years.

Re: My new 72

I will confirm vin when balance paid. Bummer. Glovebox was changed out so spid is wrong. Runs strong. Ac dash, power steering, brakes. Time for some plaid seat covers.

Re: My new 72

What VIN is on the title? The one on the glovebox, or the one on the frame?? Probably nothing to worry about, but check it out before you pay the balance.

Re: My new 72

In Ohio - needs to match the VIN on the door jam that is riveted to the body.

I wouldn't buy it if the VIN is linked to the glovebox door sticker and not the metal tag.

Re: My new 72

Hey Matt, we're neighbors (Reno). I have a 1970 with a 396. We should get together and compare notes.

Re: My new 72

Nice Blazer. Where did it come from?
Are those 8 lug axles?
How about some interior pictures?

Re: My new 72

I should call this "my bolt on build."

Currently, the blazer drives awesome. Straight and powerful, good brakes too.

It 402, turbo 400, 8 lug axles, np205 with auto hubs, corporate 14 bolt rear, later highback seats, 40 gallon tank

My plan is to add either highlander lowback blue plaid seat covers or put my orange plaid seats in it

Order vintage air setup

Put all my Hickey stuff on it, console, brush guard, swing away carrier

Con-ferr rack in I don't have to drill into top

Carpet kit

Try to find sliding rear top windows

And latest addition. Eagle by Chevy decal kit which I will probably have reproduced

Re: My new 72

Forgot to add, I'm changing the automatic hubs to spicer units and want more period correct wheels. I have a set of 16.5 jackmans but would love to have the old rally wheels but in 8 lug. Custom then.

Re: My new 72

I just finished the vintage air on mine. Wasn't too bad once they sent me the right mounts. The eagle decals look cool!

Re: My new 72

I bet you could sell a couple sets of those decals if you had them reproduced. I for one would probably buy a set. If you do have them reproduced, were you thinking of permanent vinyl "stickers", or perhaps like vinyl "wrap" that could be removed.
