Just get a beater

I just picked up this pile to haul stuff to the dump. It's an 80 lwb with a 350/350. It's pretty much stock but it's complete and untouched. It does need a drivers side floor pan and rocker. It's always been a Michigan truck so it's got a little rust. I gave $1800 for it. It says 83k but unsure on actual mileage.

I got her b/c my girlfriend doesn't understand that my 2009 Silverado work truck is for work and full of tools and parts and my 76 lowered truck isn't much for haulin. So now I have 3. Let's see how many more I can get before the misses or the city get on me.

Re: Just get a beater

My Equinox is behind the work truck or I would have a better pic.

Re: Just get a beater

That is a rare find in the great mosquito state. 36 years old and not totally consumed by rust.

I am originally from MI and moved to AZ in 1982. I drove my 73 C20 454/400 out here pulling a 6500# trailer. That 73 had excessive rust, and kept rusting for the 21 years I owned it. It finally became too dangerous to drive and gave it to a co-worker who removed the 454 and 400 and scrapped the rest.

Re: Just get a beater

Couple of old license plates, a beer can, some roofing tar, and a can of expanding foam and it will be good as new!

I like it, Rg
