Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
The original drive shaft from the donor truck was long enough to fit in the 86. Cut the back end off and changed it to the original 86 u joint size do I don't have to remember to get a special u joint when I break it. I see breaking lots of u joints in my future. Well. Hopefully only a few. And got some of the interior stuff changed over to black instead of red.

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Welcome back aboard bro. Thanks for the compliments. It's going together pretty good with some help from some awesome fabricators. Ls simple, tejas steelworks, and Holley/hooker. It wouldn't be possible without those guys for the swap parts, and redman kustoms in Memphis for putting in the wrench time, and knowledge base for making it all fit together.

Hooker long tube fitment. Had to shave an ear off the side of the trans for good fitment..but they're in there and fit really good.

More progress. Hopefully she'll be done in the next two weeks. I got to ride in it last week. Still got some bugs to work out and tune it.. But. It's coming along. I love the fact that the exhaust is no longer hanging below the frame.

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Here's where we are right now. Still have a few things to tweak and install. A.c.lines need to be finished up, cruise control, spray in bed liner, re skin and paint the tailgate.
Enjoy!! https://youtu.be/qbno-nclqGI |

That sounds amazing...the truck does at least. I'm not sure what that was playing on the radio.

Thanks bud. I think it was supposed to be country music.. Not sure what passes for country these days. Sure not what I grew up on. It was on the country station though. Lol

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Sadly, not much progress has been made over the last two months. Getting annoyed..But hey. What can you do. The a.c.lines have been finished, got some billet rear wheels, still working on the hydro boost brakes trying to get those sorted out. And apparently the 6l90e trans computer speed signal doesn't like the Dakota digital gauges for some weird reason. Still have to do the fender and tailgate...but there's a spray in bedliner and New billet rear wheels on the truck. Matching front wheels are on backorder. Should have those by the end of January. Maybe I'll get my baby back by then. Who knows. Getting beat down by this whole build. Losing interest all together.

I scanned through the pages looking for what your truck was lowered but I didn't see anything specific, What is the lowering numbers and the size of your new wheels? I like it

I'm considering doing the 3/4 drop to bring it down just a bit more because the new coil and leaf springs along with the coil overs make it sit up quite a bit even with the lowering spindles and shackles. |

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Well I'm far from a suspension expert. Lol. I was surprised too after I got everything installed. I took a step back, looked at the truck and said well shoot. Truck looks like it's back to stock ride height, and just started scratching my head. Lol. The coil over shocks are non adjustable. Just some el cheapo shocks I got from rock auto. The old rear springs that were in the truck was a 3 leaf pack and worn out. The shocks were toast all the way around, and one of the previous owners had heated the front coil springs to lower the front. I had bought some drop coil springs to go in the front along with the spindles, but the front sat too low for my taste. I went on and put a new set of coil springs in, kept the spindles and that's about where she ended up sitting.
