Axle Bumper Stops
1954 Chevy Truck - 3100
I added 3 inch dropped leaf springs (front & rear) along with two inch drop blocks. The truck rides great but when I hit a dip the bumper stops are definitely hitting the frame. Has anyone trimmed these down so that aren't hitting so regularly? I'm not ever going to have really any heavy loads in it so not worried to much about metal hitting metal but do want some protection obviously. Thanks for the time and help. Scott |

Re: Axle Bumper Stops
I would take them all the way off. You could always put some rubber mud flap material (rivited?) on the underside, but if you are not going to haul anything heavy should not be much of a problem

Re: Axle Bumper Stops
I sawed mine off years ago. I left somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 inch of rubber. They hit harder when they hit though.

Re: Axle Bumper Stops
Most all 4 Wheel Drive Accessories Shops carry different sizes of bump stops. Look in your local area and check out what works best for your application
