The LS motor is in! *Pics*

So uhh I was worried about the 4L80e fitting with a low hump. I have the motor so far forward that it created a HUGE gap at the firewall. I need to move this damn motor back and I'm worried I will have fitment issues. The can actually sat just on top of the trans until I installed the new poly cab bushings.

So anyway, the motor is finally in and the cab is finally on!

Any ideas?

I am running the same mounts as you and mine sits much further back. Move the mounts to the back holes and then re-drill the lower bolt in the CM.....that should move it back further. As for the high hump....I am not sure as I am running a 4L60E (for now) with my conversion.

I have a 5.3 with a 4L80e on stock towers with dirty dingo silders in rear holes and it clears the low hump. But just barely.

Re: The LS motor is in! *Pics*

I agree with Chris move your stands one hole back & redrill even useing DD sliders I had to do this.
And I know what your thinking (But I already have it in!!) I did the same thing lol had to pull her back out move stands back but in the end looked much better actually looks like it belonged there & was able to reuse my driveshaft & in the future if you have to work on the front of the motor for belt, water pump or whatever you will be glad you did. A lot of space.
Good luck👍

Re: The LS motor is in! *Pics*

Don't go overboard though - I have mine on the rearmost holes and, in a Camaro at least, that winds up actually touching the firewall at one of the heater box studs. And you can't reach -anything- back there like the vacuum fittings, etc.

Those are Classic Performance (CPP) new design sheetmetal engine stands & I highly recommend DirtyDingo slider plates to go with them.
Just makes things a lot easier

Cool, and the actual engine mount is just standard SBC clam shell?

Yes mine came with them as a kit & you have an option of rubber or poli mounts
Try their eBay store I want to say I got free shipping from their store but I may be wrong on that?

Nice
But it's not the same bro after my swap I sold my Avalanche & My C10 is my daily now there is just nothing like a classic.
I'm in the process of a Vintage Air & 68 front clip install after that going all out on suspension thinking either shockwaves or coil overs still undecided.

Re: The LS motor is in! *Pics*

I hear ya. The Benz is a great driver, it really took my attention away from the 442. My C10 will be driven a lot by my wife so a/c and other creature comforts are a must. The lease is up on her Infiniti coupe in March so I'm hustling to get this baby on the road for her. Looking to eliminate some car payments while having something going up in value instead of down
