Parts Cleaning solution.

I just bought a circulating parts cleaning on craigslist today and it came with about 8 gallons of "New Dimension" parts cleaner. Im trying to locate some here in the Wichita Area to add to it so its not sucking air. I think its solvent based so I was wondering if there are any issues in mixing different solvents or could I just add 5 gallons of something like Mineral Spirits. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I like simple green, or purple power, for degreasing. I like gas or kerosene for varnish.

Re: Parts Cleaning solution.

Just a little food for thought

Make certain what type solvent your parts washer is set up to run, petroleum or water based.. Never use petroleum based in a cleaner designed for h2o based cleaners, one spark could cost you everything you own.

Also, I had a parts washer similar to that. The issue with it was that I used the appropriate cleaner, it loosened the paint on the inside of the basin. It all peeled off and jammed up the filter. So, just be aware.
