Radio/ music setup

Man am I glad that I never hacked up my dash years back when I was tempted to do that to get a CD player. I survived with a FM and cassette player
,LOL until earlier this year. I got a local audio place to put a Bluetooth unit inside my glovebox and they did an awesome job putting speakers on the "hump" and on the back wheel wells. I can control all my music from my iPhone with the glovebox door closed volume and everything, amp is under the drivers seat. I can take pics if someone is interested.

I keep the fm cassette player in the dash as a decoy. No one will steal it.

Re: Radio/ music setup

Yes, please post pics. I'm planning on doing mine this week and need ideas. I really don't want to hack up the dash, but I can't afford the retro type radio that fit without cutting.

Re: Radio/ music setup

Will do. I'm traveling right now so it will be 3-4 days though. The Bluetooth radio itself was only about $150 but by the time I added 4 speakers amp and installation it was about $600 but you could get away pretty cheap for just the unit. Will post around Wednesday or Thursday.

Re: Radio/ music setup

I'm curious to see how the speakers are mounted. I'd also like to know what make/model of stereo you went with and how it sounds.

Re: Radio/ music setup

Sorry for the upside down pics. Pioneer radio with kicker speakers and it forgot what kind of amp under the drivers seat which is kind of hard to get a pic of. Sounds awesome and love being able to control it with my phone.

How did you set up the radio to the truck wiring wise?

Re: Radio/ music setup

Wish I saw this thread before I hacked my dash. I had a retro sound radio in it for a few years. Just a few months ago the passenger speaker started crackling. I rewired the speaker but it kept doing it so I checked the speaker with another radio and it worked fine. Out with the radio and perfect dash.. I think I cried when I was cutting it. lol..

Re: Radio/ music setup

Very nice Hemi. Clean and covert setup. How does it sound?

This is mine. Generic but sounds good. The doors were already hacked for speakers. The wiring seen has been hidden, these pics were during assembly.

Re: Radio/ music setup

Hemi, I like the jerry can idea, very nice.

I went this approach a little while back. Had these components gifted from a friends old car and wanted to find a way to use them. Boxes on both sides for the speakers and added cup holders and a storage compartment for the rear passengers.
Amps under rear seat.

I highly suggest going with a sub if you go this route. I'm actually a dealer for them and have one on my sxs. They are very loud and clean but not much lows. Very easy install btw.
