finally starting somewhere!!
Hi all, I don't post a whole lot here but I've always lurked. Been inspired by many to do an LS swap! Picked up a decent mileage 5.3 and just yanked the original 307 2 days ago. Unfortunately, I have to rebuild my trans first before all of it goes in! Wish me luck! And ill keep everyone updated.

Rebuilding the trans isn't too bad. I watched youtube videos and did mine. I haven't actually started it and run it yet, but I am pretty confident about it. The biggest thing is cleanliness. Foreign matter can really do some damage!

Got the Sachs flywheel on and clutch setup on tonight. Going to need to clearance the starter first before the bell housing goes on. I'm dropping her in engine and bell only so I can keep my driveshaft I just got made and also use the bell mounts for the trans! Pics will be up shortly. Getting close!

Finished my transmission. Got the engine in with the bellhousing and clutch also! Will mate the trans up possibly tomorrow or run my new fuel lines. Going from the 5/16" hard line to -6 into a carter pump to a regulator to a holley 650 dp! Oh and my headers came also! Speed engineering 1-7/8 swap headers. Will see how fitment of the z bar will look like.. hopefully not too much fabricating.

Cool build. I like the way your using an existing manual transmission. I would like to fab up a LSx/ Muncie some day. Good luck and have fun.

Don't be surprised if those headers won't work..I tried several different ones that were supposed to work with a zbar..none fit..every set the collectors went right where the zbar was..I was about to go with manifolds when I tried a set of headers for a 6.0 hummer..those cleared but I had to mod the frame rail and mod the collecter as well..the hummer headers drop straight down and then turn back..

headers unfortunately didn't clear the bell housing crossmember, I fabbed up a new one to go under the tailshaft and cut the bell crossmember out! I had to also fab a pivot for the z bar!
