Re: Collars for vent windows

Well, you are not crazy. I know what you are talking about. That's the good news

Unfortunately I didn't find any new ones (didn't try all that hard though) and just reused my original ones.

Do they look like cone shaped washers?

Re: Collars for vent windows

One of mine was missing. I can't say I looked hard in trying to find replacements. I just found a like sized screw with a semi-coned shaped washer on the screw. It worked just fine.

They're odd-shaped for sure, if you've lost yours I'd get some replacements at the junkyard.

Check out this outfit, you can't buy direct, but at least you'd know they are available.

Well I didn't use a different screw, so I must have found those collars somewhere. I would try NAPA or Fastenal, I have both of those stores local, so maybe I did find them in one of those stores.

Re: Collars for vent windows

Well I'm still looking to see where I got these. I did find that GM still offers this part, it's called a bushing spacer #60 on the diagram. But at $28, wow!! Here's the link:

BTW, this is what LMC has. This is what I must have been thinking about that I got and used. Well I did get them, but I didn't need to use them.

Re: Collars for vent windows

If all else fails, check this site http://www.car-part.com. You might be able to find a local yard that you can get these off a salvage truck. I'm suggesting this because this site, I found local yards that I never knew existed, that where within an hours drive of me.

And try the parts board on here too. People that are parting out their trucks might be able to get you some.

And if I get out to one, I'll see if I can snag some for you. Most of the time the doors and vents are gone. But I did get vents out of a truck about 3 years ago, I probably just left the screws & bushings laying there on the floor of the truck.

Re: Collars for vent windows

Did you ever find some of those collars? I was out at the Pick-N-Pull the other day getting some items, and I remembered these. I got 3, and then the other truck, I went and forgot to get them off it. But now I know, when I go, I will grab these for people who might need them.

So anyways, if you still need some, I can ship them out to you. I cleaned them up and hit them with a bit a black.

Let me know
