Re: spark plug and header question

stock GM / AC Delco wires with Doug Thorley Tri-Y's. Works perfectly.

Re: spark plug and header question

Some header combo's need the extended plug ends, or the angled ends. It depends on the header, and the size of the primary.

I switched to MSD's because a) they are a nice wire and b) the "multi-angle" boots will fit pretty much any combo.

Re: spark plug and header question

I've seen MSD wires recommended because the factory wire boots can sit on the header tubes on some headers. The MSD wires, like BR3W mentioned are adjustable to bend the boot to fit your application.

You could always go another route. I bought the Accel Extreme 9000 Ceramic boot plug wires with 45 degree boots. They're spendy, but after having burned two plug wires on my old SBC, I wasn't going to deal with it again. Had them on the SBC and they worked great.

Buy Nomex fire-socks for the plug boots.

Be careful if you look into these. There are many manufacturers, but most of them (if not all of them) will not fit 90 degree plug boots. I have a set of these that wouldn't fit my wires, so I went the ceramic boot route. If you aren't running 90 degree plug boots, you should be fine with them.
