1974 K10 1/2 ton Posi

Just as the title says. I have a 1974 K10 1/2ton truck with a 12-bolt open diff. I want a posi in it, and not air lockers. Anyone know a good one to put in, if not a full time. I currently am running 33"x12.5"x15" BFGs and it does no good for me to only have one wheel spinning.

Re: 1974 K10 1/2 ton Posi

Thanks guys. I take it it's a fairly simple swap-in?
Also, spline count for 1/2 K10? I'm not 100% sure. If I recall correctly it's a 8.875 30spline, right? Then I'll obviously also have to know my gear ratio.

Yeah you will need to know which ratio you have which would be in the glove box. I've heard good things about the trutrac and personally I had an auburn clutch type lsd that worked well. Will have to setup the gears after install so if you want to swap ratios you are 1/2 way there.

Yep no problem it is a Limited slip so it behaves very well on the street. Turns like it did with nothing in the front. I also have a np208 and warn hubs.
