water pump wobble?

Sent my water pump off to Author Gould which is a highly recommended guy for restoration water pumps.

I put it back on ran the truck a couple hundred miles and it started hydrolocking (hard to start) pulled the rain plug and green antifreeze...

also, noticed the pump itself and pulley wobbled never noticed this before could any of this play hand and hand with what issues I have now if was it just pure luck my head gasket decided to go right after I put the rebuilt pump on.

I can't see how they could be tied together but just asking...

Re: water pump wobble?

The problems should not be related. Did you mean you pulled the oil "drain" plug and got anti freeze? I usually blame the intake gasket seal before the head gaskets. I never rebuild waterpumps either, I just buy a reman from the parts store. Yours must be an older special one?

Re: water pump wobble?

I guess it could be that the old pump was so weak the weak spot in your head gasket was ok till a new pump was installed. Or it could be another thing. Let me ask, did the pump go out on you? Did it get hot? Could be the head cracked or gasket compromised from that and now it's running and showing the new problem.
