LS3 swap help drive acc...
Hi folks
I have a 2010 LS3 from a camaro . it is missing all the front drive acc, etc the only piece i currently have is the stock crank pully. I found a totalled 2011 GMC with a 5.3. I can purchase the entire, complete front drive acc system , my question is will this bolt up to my LS3? i have searched for answers but cant find a answer. Will it clear the frame in a 1969 GMC c10? i will try to attach a pic. oh i do have the factory camaro water pump, thx sean |

I do believe your problem is going to be the intake and throttle body will not clear with truck acc . You will need to find some car acc with that intake . The upper bracket for the truck Alt is going to be in front of the throttle body opening . I have heard of some kind of mod with a bracket and cutting the alt bracket off to make it work .

Re: LS3 swap help drive acc...
thanks for your reply,
i think i should just maybe use the holley ls kit or some other one specific to this application. the truck ones just seem to create more problems than they will solve for me...thx sean |

Re: LS3 swap help drive acc...
I went with the Holley low mount setup. I really like the looks of it, but something I want to point out with this setup, is that you will most likely have to cut the frame to get the alternator to fit. I used the 140 amp alternator with mine and had to trim, there is a smaller 105 amp alternator you can run too but I am guessing it will still need to be trimmed.

I went with Concept One, which keeps things low but still clears classic frames. Not cheap, unfortunately, but it looks nice.

Here is a couple links for the truck acc drive mod to clear the intake. The alternator probably wont clear the engine cover however. Using the Camaro water pump is great as it puts the outlet closer to the drivers side stock rad outlet. Were you going to be running AC? http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation...anifold-2.html http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=607954 |

Re: LS3 swap help drive acc...
Hi folks,
thank you very much for the replies and links. i have decided to go with the Holley system part number 20-138 . it puts the acc up high and out of the way, yes eventually the truck will be running a vintage air system. thx sean |
