Question About Right Stuff Booster on a '68
We recently added a 9" Booster from Right Stuff along with a Wilwood Master Cylinder and Adjustable Proportioning Valve. The booster came with brackets that bolted to the original firewall bolts. We went with the smaller diameter booster to clear the tall valve covers on the big block.
My question is, does the booster look too far away from the firewall? It has been so long since we saw a booster/master on the truck, so it may just be me. The original booster set up came with the factory brackets that stuck out even more than the Right Stuff ones. I don't know. Should I fabricate new brackets that are about 1.5" shorter to make it mount closer to the firewall? Or, does it look OK to you guys? POP

Re: Question About Right Stuff Booster on a '68
Not sure if this could be part of the issue but It appears that the smaller diameter booster is deeper than the larger diameter originals and the Wilwood master is certainly longer than a stock master cylinder so even if the bracket keeps the back side of the booster the same distance as original, the whole setup sticks out quite a bit further than a stock setup. (based on what I could see in your pics)
Here are a couple pics of a factory setup and the bracket appears to be a bit longer that the ones you posted. Last edited by cericd; 04-05-2017 at 10:16 PM. Reason: Spelling |
