ls fuel pumps problem

looking for some help with my ls1 swap. My saddle mount pumps seem to last 30 min of run time , msd pump corvette style filter regulator, I have 13.7 volts to the pump , pump is at same level of outlet on tank, psi reflash and wiring pump relay at fuse panel truck is not blowing 20 amp fuse or any relay damage any idea's what I could be missing

Are you saying the pump quits and dies..and never works again..check your ground..I used a walbro 255 on mine..

Thanks mongocanfly for the tip on the ground I cut the pump apart and found some aluminum chips in it ? I'm going to try a better pre filter

Yep..aluminum in the pumps not good either..do you have a aluminum tank?

Yes it is a aluminum fuel tank This had been a on going build [many years] of sitting due to other obligations I did have a new vent installed years ago and overlooked a good cleaning when the time came for start up, and only had a small filter on it. Costly mistake

I'm running a big Aeromotive in-tank pump, but I run a 100 micro pre-filter and a 10-micro post-filter. Protects the pump from large chunks like that.

For a more conventional style pump, you'd think the "sock" would catch that kind of stuff...
