Poping when steering

I have 68 2wd 1/2 ton w power steering.
when I take turns sometimes or come to a stop, or just get going after a stop I get a popping from my front end stuff.
All steering stuff but the A-frame busings are brand new. the only thing is that it has had some frame damage on the drivers side. So the rivets that hold the front cross member to the drivers side frame rail are loose. it has ben reinforced and the frame rail does not twist like it used to when steering. Also I have not ever gotten the steering alinged....any help would be good....thanks guys!!!!
I am also running 31x11.5 tires. My freind suggested that the tires may be to big and "pulling" stuff the way it should not be pulled....makes sense.
Thanks guys!!!

Check your ball joints and think about trying to fix the loose rivets by heating them with a torch till red and beating the piss out of them from both sides at the same time. Granted this a two person job but it may work. The other option is to replace them with bolts. Other things that may make it "pop" are broken rear springs, old worn out caliper retainers, oh and the most annoying of all a broken wheel weight that is stuck behind a chrome ring.

I hope this helps a little,
OnDrew

my camaro did that. it turned out to be bad components. i had to replace the tie rods ball joints and idler arm. your idler arm may be to high or too low for the linkage to work correctly causing the pop

i had a bad upper shock mount on the drivers side that would pop and sounded to me like a bad ball joint. when my frame cracked the steering box i couldnt steer the thing. didnt pop or anything.
