Interchangeable Flex plate
Got 4.8 vortec motor from a 2000 silverado 1500 and I need a flex plate to mate to TH350. Id rather get one from a junk yard if I can rather than spend the extra money. I need to know if anybody can tell me what years the flex plates are interchangeable. Thanks!

Re: Interchangeable Flex plate
I realize it won't work without the adapter and the longer bolts. I also have a stock converter and flexplate. I've also been told the converter will work I need a different flexplate. Rather than spending more money on aftermarket part can I pull one from a junkyard? If so what years should I be looking for? I'm assuming 99-07 gen 3 all used the same one I was just checking.

Re: Interchangeable Flex plate
Yes. You need a flat flexplate and spacer from a factory application that used a 4l80e transmission. The GM part number is 12551367. An aftermarket equivalent is the ATP brand part number Z270. Look at the applications on this page if you want to know what vehicles to look for:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...0/applications You may have to elongate the bolt holes to match your converter depending on it's bolt pattern. |
