New shocks for '85 C-10

I am nearing the end of my "freshening up" project for my 1985 Silverado C-10 and have only a couple more things to do. About 30,000 miles ago I put some Monroe gas shocks on the truck and I just flat don't like them. Although the truck is used here at the ranch, it is not subjected to heavy duty usage often...perhaps only once or twice a year pulling a hay trailer. The KYB Monomax shocks came highly recommended and I want to check if you guys have experience with them. The truck is 2x2 with limited slip and new coil springs on the front. If not KYB, do you have any better suggestions? Thanks.

I also have KYB shocks on my 85 c10. The ride is somewhat rough but I just chalk that up to being a 30 year old truck. Got them on rock auto for about $20 each so I can't complain.

Jstock85 - are your shocks the monomax ones the OP is asking about? I don't think they are based on the price - $20/shock is usually the basic ones.

I'm also interested if anyone is using the monomax's, seems like a more affordable monotube compared to the bilsteins.

No man for this old beater i went with the basic KYB. Ive always heard KYB was a solid brand so i figured even their cheap line should still work well.

Thanks guys. I've got a set of KYB Monomax shocks on order and some upper and lower control arm bushings, as well. I think they will do well on the roads around here.
