Convert Single Reservoir Power Brakes to Duel Reservoir Power Brakes.
I have a fully optioned 1965 C20 with Single Reservoir Power Brakes that I would like to convert to a Duel Master Cylinder with Power Brakes and I wish to retain my drum brakes.
I know that most will use the Duel Reservoir Master Cylinder from a 67-70 truck, and it is very nearly a bolt on affair, but I have several questions: First: Will the Duel Master Cylinder work with my stock Nine Inch Power Booster?...and if not what parts will I need. Second: Does using the Duel Reservoir Master Cylinder increase pedal effort, if I stay with the original size Power Booster? Third: If decide to go with the bigger diameter 67-70 Power Booster, can I use the stock 65 Power Booster Mounting Bracket, or will I need to use something different? Thanks, |

Re: Convert Single Reservoir Power Brakes to Duel Reservoir Power Brakes.
here's how I did it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=487384
non-power though, but you could simply use one of member CaptainFabs booster brackets to tuck it in close to the firewall. Looks fairly stock, takes up less room, uses easily available parts/boosters, etc. When you buy the MC though, make sure you buy one for power brakes - the depth of the hole the brake push rod goes into is different between masters. EDIT: OOps, missed the fact that you already have power - so, I'd just buy a stock power brake master cylinder for a 67 C20 and go from there. |

On a related note does anyone here have experience with Velvetouch Brake Lining on drum brakes?... or any of the organic materials?
