Replacing windshield trim w/o removing windshield?

You can see in the pic that my chrome windshield trim is looking roached. I see that LMC sells just the chrome trim piece and would like to swap it out. Is it possible to swap out without having to remove the windshield? If so any tips? Thanks!

Yep!

That's the last thing that is put in place. It's called a "locking strip" it pulls right out, they make a tool to put it in.

Enjoy,

Ditto on the trim. Could you describe the tool more? Possibly name, part number, seller.

Thanks.

Re: Replacing windshield trim w/o removing windshield?

Alternately this tool is very easy to use and it follows the trim around quite easily. The only thing to remember when installing these trim strips is you don't want to stretch it. I found the easiest way to prevent that was to stop periodically and push the trim back against itself (if that makes sense) as the trim will shrink somewhat over time. Here's is a description to put into your browser, I am not sure if the link is cool to post AllGlassPartslockingstriptool

Me too. Plastic windshield tool is less aggressive on the rubber though
