Spare Tire Carrier Question
Good evening all!!
My question is this, I have the two parts in picture #1....what parts do I "REALLY" need in picture #2 to make my under-frame spare tire carrier work????? Do I need the grayed out piece in the middle of the picture (not the frame ) Thanks for any help in advance. Mike

Re: Spare Tire Carrier Question
I think the straight grayed out piece is the bottom of the two in your pic.
So as I see it you need bolt 2 and matching nuts and washers(if any), Bolt 4 and nut 5. And 2 Bolt 10 + matching nuts and washers for your bottom piece. You may need the grayed out bent piece that the single bolt 10 goes through if it is missing from your frame. If you have a hitch, it may interfere with the stock spare tire carrier. |

Re: Spare Tire Carrier Question
I think you have what you need to make it work. My truck does not have the part in the second picture, and the tire snugs up against the big riveted crossmember in the frame.

Re: Spare Tire Carrier Question
Just looked at mine in the light of day. It just has the two parts you have. Don't know what that mystery grayed out bent piece in the picture is. Tire snugs up against the narrow piece you have and a frame cross piece not pictured in the parts diagram.
So bolt 4 + nut 5 and bolt 2 + nut(s) 3 for your large piece For the smaller piece, 2 bolt 10 + matching nuts and washers. Bolt 10s are probably available at a hardware store. |

Re: Spare Tire Carrier Question
Dead Parrot - you are spot on! Those are the pieces I just ordered, except for bolt 10s which you are correct, I can get those locally. Thanks Mike
