doesn't the window have a knob that swivels to latch it? not a keyed lock, but secure closed.

Re: Need to lock my vent window.

You used to be able to buy window locks at truck stops for big rigs that would work .

Re: Need to lock my vent window.

I can't remember if any of our trucks had them but I do remember my Pop's Ford having a button on the wing window latch that had to be pushed in for the latch to be opened. Did any of the later trucks (68 - 72 +) have a feature like that?

If so, Id be looking into retrofitting a knob from the later years onto our window frames.

The Summit lock is a good " right now" fix for sure though.

I just got them from summit. My older bug had them a push button to open it.

Re: Need to lock my vent window.

If they ever came up with a decent way to install one piece door windows that would be that for me.

Re: Need to lock my vent window.

Thanks for the link.
I also remember some of the old wing window latches had a button to be pushed or it wouldn't turn.

I like the wing window. You could make yours fixed so they could never be opened.

Re: Need to lock my vent window.

If they have the button then you can still break in. You use a bent butter knife to press the button and a straight butter knife to move the latch.
We do lock outs at the wrecker service.
