Bumper question
Why do some front bumpers seem to have a little indentation around the bolt holes and some do not? I have had two original 60-62 bumpers and neither of them had the indentation.

I can't give you an answer, but you are correct. The early bumpers (thru '62) were flush, later bumpers (63-66) had the recess. Hole spacing is also different.

Could it be that some of the aftermarket bumpers you have seen have had the bumper bolts over-torqued and that the impressions were made from an over-pressurized bolt clamped down and put those indentations into the metal of the bolt holes? I have seen this before as well...

Pardon me for answering Forest - ...Oem bumpers don't suck in around the bolt heads like the cheap soft aftermarket stuff does. We are talking about a clean, designed recess surrounding the bolt head.
