Fender Bolts
SO I had previously found some correct dimension fender bolts from the bolt barn (shown in the pic in silver) However I have since found some from Cllips and Fasteners with a dog point. Also classic parts dot com has them in dog point that "look" correct but I dont have a washer dimension - should be 13/16".

Re: Fender Bolts
I just put some in my pocket whenever I'm at the pick a part.
BTW, GM body bolts are typically pointed, and have a non-removable washer that can be turned. |

You need to tighten up your belt another notch. So your pants will not fall off.

Re: Fender Bolts
Classic and a couple of other places sell a complete bolt set for all your front metal parts..... ie fenders , inner fenders, all the grill and radiator bolts in a kit for about $45. Total of 109 bolts in the package. I'm restoring a 63 stepside and they will be on my next order. I don't think it's listed in their catalog but they are listed on line....

Re: Fender Bolts
Your probably right but I just used the Lambrecht truck reference thread.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=603021 There are a couple of places where a captured washer bolt was used.(Post #5 pic #1 and Post #4 pic #10 and Post #9 Pic #1) The rest were large (wide) flange as shown. Post #5 pic #1 and #6, Post #6 Pic #2, #4 and #5. I didnt know the inner fender to firewall (two each side) were captured tooth washers as well as the hood bolts. Of course I got my truck in "a box" so I had no reference to speak of.

Re: Fender Bolts
An additional note on the referenced photos, in post 5. The photo of the hood hinge to firewall and hood showing captured tooth washer bolts is different for 1966 trucks. 66' truck use bolts with captured flat washers. This information was previously reported by member "60-66", and others.
The photo below is from OEM4ME, 1966 Fremont truck, showing the flat washer bolt. Les Last edited by aotte1; 10-11-2017 at 12:22 PM. |

Re: Fender Bolts
Good info, he'd know ("60-66") better than most.
