Well, I played with my tester tonight and I think I have figured out enough to get it wired.

Re: Light Switch Wiring Diagram on 59??

Try this...

http://www.classicchevy.com/assets/i...hevy/25-01.jpg

The fuse in the switch is for the rheostat and if any of the dash lights are shorting out, it will blow that fuse. I had a courtesy light in the ignition switch that the wire cracked and touched the dash shorting out all of the dash lights. I put in a 15 amp fuse in it and it just melted the rheostat spring housing. So only use a 5 amp for that fuse. The ground connection near the front is only for the dome light ground wire. If you ground that connection to the body it will make the rheostat not work and the dome will stay on constantly.

You can also connect the front park lights to the tail light circuit so they remain on all of the time instead of going off with the headlights on.
