73-75 bedside change
Here is my latest question that im sure everyone else already knows,The PO did a- hack job on the pass side bedside.I can get a replacement bedside for a 76-78. I have looked at a zillion pic of the two and i cant see an obvious difference.other than the B pillar of course
So is there one or will the 76-78 bed side work on the 73? Last edited by 63longfleet; 12-06-2017 at 11:11 AM. |

Re: 73-75 bedside change
Classic Industries has both sides but the only difference seems to be where the top rail ends to me as well I am actually using a bedside from a 79 to repair my 74 but I'm only using a partial.

Re: 73-75 bedside change
Im giong to do the complete bedside, the PO appears to have simple covered the rust on the original side with a late model side. yes I mean he welded the new side directly over the old with some obvious mods for the fuel door. It sticks out a full 1/2inch farther than the door. Thanks for the hookup on the bedside, that one is almost 100.00 cheaper than the one i found.

Re: 73-75 bedside change
The Buba body man who worked your bedside musta been the same one who stuffed the rust holes above the windshield on my 1st K5 with paper towels & Bondoed over them!

Re: 73-75 bedside change
I just cut the rocker out of my 71. At least my Bubba used scotchbrite and bondo.. Built to last that way!

Re: 73-75 bedside change
Like you already know rebuilding this piece is what's gonna suck.
![]() If you can save that corner, you're golden. If it were me I'd get some extra bedrail to re-build the corner out of then butt weld it to the new bedside.
