Rare bracket?

After disassembly and PAINT, It seems as if I have an extra bracket with a bump STOP in IT. Any idea if I NEED these for my drop?...or if anyone might need OR want them? They go on top of trailing arm.

They were for the overload springs.

Now I see. I took off the parts that mount to the frame not knowing what they were for. Spring was missing.

Re: Rare bracket?

I don't think it's "rare" but fairly uncommon. They also were very effective. The ride stays factory until you add enough load then the extra spring helps out.

I had it on my '72 truck. Sold the truck and bought a 2WD Suburban and sought out a factory overload setup to install.

I ended up buying a 4WD and selling the 2WD before it got installed.
