Re: photosuckit fix for chrome

obviously softpatch is big promoter of this fix

first off you this fix is for google chrome internet browser for a pc https://www.google.com/chrome/
imo, chrome is a butt load better than using windows internet explorer

chrome is the same web browser as the one you use on your android phone
this may be mobile friendly, i never use my phone for forums

Re: photosuckit fix for chrome

Unfortunately this is not working on my machine. Is everyone else still having success?

Photosuckit should get credit for doing something very difficult. They have singlehandedly restricted the sharing of knowledge among humans worldwide.

Re: photosuckit fix for chrome

It's hit-and-miss in your build thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...09&postcount=3 shows the gauges. But the posts before and after have photos.

Re: photosuckit fix for chrome

I got an email from Photobucket saying they changed things. It looks like all pictures and 3rd party hosting has been restored. I tested it on my computer using internet explorer and it worked but I had the fix installed before so I'm not sure. How about all of you?

Re: photosuckit fix for chrome

i didn't get the email but looked on photosuckit to find this Welcome-to-the-New-Photobucket-

As of today, your hosted images are live.
so today images are showing, but read on and they want $20 yearly under the new management
i imagine had photosuckit done that originally they would have had many takers, but to offer this a year later probably won't save them
to many people have moved on from photosuckit

the fix doesn't work on internet explorer, you should see the pics today
i tested pics in chrome by going to chrome extension manager to turn off the hotlink fix
i see the pics and may pay the $20/yr to have the pics back in my threads
i am here a limited time, unfortunately when i go, my pics go with me

they DID do this originally. they started at 9.99 a year actually. then went to 29.99, then 49.99. then FOUR HUNDRED. it didnt work at 9.99 and it REALLY didnt work at 399.

the reason why is because facebook quietly bought photobucket, they already owned instagram. why have three photo sharing sites? the way you move people from one to another is to make one free (facebook, instagram are free) and the last cost money.

I replaced all my images with people flipping the bird. screw em.

Re: photosuckit fix for chrome

I use flickr, and its a little fiddly, but its easy to move photos back and forth between albums without breaking links.

my two pieces of advice for putting photos online are: 1. dont upload at full resolution, 800x600 is more than enough for forum sharing, and the bigger YOUR pictures the more valuable they are to THEM. 2. be prepared to delete your albums and close your service at any moment, meaning keep a local backup (on your computer, on a flash drive) of all your photos.
