LS Speartech Harness With Rostra Cruise Control Switch

I've got a speartech dbw standalone harness, with cruise control included in the harness. The cc wiring from the harness is:

brake and clutch pedal switches (straight forward)

the control functions:

Gray - off/on (gm stalk switch)
Gray/blk - resume/accel (gm stalk switch)
Dk blue - set/coast (gm stalk switch)
Lt blue - to normally open brake switch (same to wire as brake lights)

Seems straight forward but my ididit column has the rostra 250-3020 four wire stalk with no documentation as to which wire is what. Speartech said they didnt think the switch would work (with no explanation as to why). I've contacted Rostra to see if they can give me the info I need but havent heard back yet.

Does anybody know anything about this switch or used the combination?

Re: LS Speartech Harness With Rostra Cruise Control Switch

The problem usually comes from how the switches are set up. the LS control modules are looking for NO signaling, meaning there is no voltage on the set/accel or coast/resume wires until those buttons are pressed. Earlier GM vehicles and a lot of the aftermarket units are the opposite. From what I can tell the switch you have is the wrong set up, though I can't find anything for sure. You can easily check it with a multimeter, and if it is the wrong one, wiring up some relays to reverse the circuit would be pretty simple, and a whole lot cheaper than a new stalk.

Re: LS Speartech Harness With Rostra Cruise Control Switch

You will have to use relays to reverse the switches inside a Rostra column mounted switch. Only the aftermarket dash mounted switches have the normally open switches in them, the turn signal switches all have normally closed switches. Here's a link on how to do it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=398006

Re: LS Speartech Harness With Rostra Cruise Control Switch

Ok, not the answer I wanted but the answer I was expecting. Just have to figure where to hide more electrical crap under the dash. I'm running out of room!

Thanks guys
