Re: Headlight upgrade
stock h/l switches are very robust so with incandessant or halogen bulbs they last for decades with no problems. I,ve had my 71 since new and replaced 1 switch

Re: Headlight upgrade
Yes, but long vs short life isn't the only point of a relay upgrade. Stock wiring doesn't allow maximum voltage to reach the headlamps, and higher voltage with relays results in measurably brighter lights.

Re: Headlight upgrade
I did the madelectrical.com upgrade
I got some water tight relays off of some 80's cars at pick npull. The headlight power now turns on the relay and I got twice as bright lights now. I'm running Silver Star halogen. http://www.madelectrical.com/electri...adlights.shtml |

Re: Headlight upgrade
I've always sworn by these from the Bus Depothttp://www.busdepot.com/nl910ch4 with 55/100W halogen bulbs and relays for hi/lo. These are basically Indian made copies of the 70's Cibie Z beams with the same or similar beam pattern(E code). They also seem to be quite durable. I've used them on several vehicles with 7" rounds because it's hard to beat that price. That's what's going in my new 67.
