Need Blazer parts advice!!!

Ok I'm going to the body man tomorrow and getting a quote on fixing up the blazer. I need to get a new gas tank, straps and sending unit, whats the best one out there thats not outrageous on price? I'm going to need alot of other new stuff, carpet, seat covers, seal kit, emblems, some chrome, and roll pans. I'm going to try to spread it out among our fine businessman who sell new stuff. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Randy

As far as I can tell all the metal gas tanks are made by the same company, I would go with the metal and not poly. Some of the other parts have the same parts in different quality, the higher priced stuff being better. Personally I believe in the ancient chinesse saying, Cheap no good, Good no cheap.

Tanks

There is a local shop in Denver and when I asked about a tank for my 72 I was quoted 275 or so this is a metal tank and for somereason I didn't think that price out of line... And as luck would have it I don't have the number with me, As I'm in Russelville Ark tonight headed for NM in the morning. With you living in KS you could make a run down to LMC and get a good look at what they have. I have bought straps and the anti-noise pad nothing more than roofing felt. But the straps were ok.
The shop is on York st just north of 58th if anybody else in Denver wants to stop by.

You need to think about going to one of the larger swap meets. Parts are way cheaper. Went to Carlisle a few weeks ago and saved a ton of money.

One thing that I have learned is, some venders have FREE SHIPPING when you purchase over a certain dollar amount of parts. If you need a lot of parts, this can save some bucks. I got free shipping on some truck freight items (large or heavy) because I spent enough money.

Well its started, the motor is out and another one is getting rebuilt for it, tranny and transfer have already been rebuilt. I'm taking off work early tomorrow to start taking parts off it before it goes to the body shop. I'm going to start buying parts now. I already got some, NOS inner and outer grill and emblem, new rear bumper, new gas tank, have skid plate for transfer and gas tank, tilt, tach, new dash pad, most of new weatherstrip, 72 towhooks. Still alot more to buy though. We'll see how long it takes to get it back together!!
