K series shifter boots
My K20 has no boots on the floor shifters. I'd like to remedy this, but I do not know where to start or what parts I need.
I need boots for the transfer case shifter and the transmission shifter. Not necessarily looking for factory originals, but something that resembles the original set up would be great.

Re: K series shifter boots
Thanks for the guidance so far. Found the needed transmission boot and retainer ring. I am not convinced I have found a suitable transfer case boot. The transfer case shift lever is practically laying on the transmission hump when in 2wd.

Re: K series shifter boots
No one re-pops the t/f case one that i know of. One comes up on e-bay but big $$$. The trans never had one from the factory.

Re: K series shifter boots
From the experts on here and my dad's 66 3/4t 4sp bought new in 66 had no trans boot. there is a seal that goes between the top of the trans and the trans tunnel.

Re: K series shifter boots
Strange but true. No factory boot on the four speed. Foam seal only between floor and trans.

Re: K series shifter boots
I have the floor shift boot on my tk but it's not factory and the 67-72 t/f case boot is not the same as 60-66. Don't know why they haven't re-poped it yet. No demand i guess.

Re: K series shifter boots
Thank you for the help.
I will get the sponge seal for the transmission but I need to find something for the transfer case. A lot of heat comes through the transfer case shift opening when going down the road. 61K10 - What boot are you running for the transfer case shifter?

I'd like to try the 67-72 boot, but nobody sells a retainer ring to go with it (at least I cannot find one).

Re: K series shifter boots
the 67-72 t/f case one should work. Maybe make your own ring? water blast one? Put it under your mat or rug?
