New Shocks for K5
I've got a 1990 Chevy K5 that's riding pretty rough and is in need of some new shocks (still has the ones from the factory). I've been debating on either getting some cheap Monroe's or going all out and getting some Bilstein 4600's. My question is whether or not I'll really feel a ride differnece in a truck like this if I get the Bilsteins?

Re: New Shocks for K5
I have not had good shocks on my Jimmy, but when the OEM shocks were wiped out on my 2500HD (20,000 miles. WTF?) I put some ProComps on it. They were wiped out in 20 more. I did the Bilsteins after that and they have been on there 10 years now.
If you don't plan on any suspension mods and just driving it, I'd get the Bilsteins.

Re: New Shocks for K5
I am replacing my shocks, but i couldn't figure out which model number bilsteins to get. searched the forum but just couldn't figure out which model numbers to order for a bone stock 72 jimmy.
I had to replace the shocks so i got a a set of KYB (they didn't cost very much, i think i got a complete set for under $100). if you find out the right model number of bilsteins for front and back i would be real interested! Someone told me it is important to not only get the length right but also to get the valving right for the bilsteins. |

I am running the Bilstein 5100's with a 2.5" lift. 1989 V1500 Blazer. I definitely like them!
For your 1990 V1500 Blazer on the 4600's, stock height: Front: 24-009232 Front Aux: 24-010269 Rear: 24-009331 All per Bilstein Application Guide
