Need some help with AD rad support.
My upper tie bar wasn't welded to the rad support. I had forgotten that it's suppose to be and had it sand blasted, now find that I need to weld it to the rad support, or maybe I will make it bolt on properly adding a tab where it was welded and put a bolt.
But what about the cross rod supports, where the heck does it mount, the bolts broken off but I see no where that it would have mounted. Brian

Re: Need some help with AD rad support.
Martin, this isn't a very good pic, but all I have. I could be wrong, but the "X" brace is welded to the radiator support. Then there are two support rods that are bolted to the radiator support and go to the front grill support. You have to look real close but you can see the "X" brace. Hope this helps...Jim

The rods are welded in? I have to take a run out there again to see, I was just out looking at it and didn't see that.

Re: Need some help with AD rad support.
Damn, how simple is that! I didn't look at the other end of the rods thinking they were bolted on, LOLOLOL. Just checked, and sure enough, they weld on the inside of the support, geeez, thanks.
I did see another screwup though, the end of the upper horizontal support that goes out over the fender has ben cut off. So I will need to take this off my old rad support (that's all cut up on the bottom from my Camaro clip fiasco) and put it on this one. Brian

Good catch, Makes you wonder why it was cut off though.

Re: Need some help with AD rad support.
The only thing I can think of is that the nut stun on the underside and they just cut it to take the front end apart?

Re: Need some help with AD rad support.
The rad support I am replacing with this one didn't have them and it has been on my truck at least since 1974 when I bought it so I don't think there is a big reason for them.
