Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

Hauled a small piece of furniture home. Forgot to take a pic with it in the bed.

Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

Been doing a lot WITH my truck this year.
Went and got a 3/4 ton of charcoal mica slate for a pathway.

Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

I totally forgot about this thread. My 66 was getting work done March and April. I picked up playground tiles, 62 cinder blocks and cap, 34 bags of concrete, a yard of dirt and fence materials. I built a "dog free zone" for my little guy to make babysitting easier on the grandparents. Only problem is he wants the dogs to come in and play too!

Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

Great day today. Drove the truck to work (about 45 min each way). Loaded it up with a boxed up dual exhaust system and some other parts that my buddy in Vancouver needs. Brought home an SBC serpentine conversion, and my spare Powerglide from the school shop. City rush hour traffic, and 65mph on the highway on the way home. What a good truck.

Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

Not really today, but over the last week, I did Hot Rods Drag Week. I drove around 840 miles and made 4 runs at 4 tracks. Best run was 10.905 @ 124 and average was 10.984 seconds. Great drive especially thru North Carolina between Asheville and Georgia. No problems with the truck other than the passenger side door did not want to latch- pulled the door panel and fixed it in less than 15 minutes at a gas station.

Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

Well, mine was last week too. I moved my 40' ABC trailer up to Fawn Lodge from Oak Run, Ca. It was a trip of about sixty-five miles and we climbed about thirty-five hundred feet to cross Buckhorn Summit, then down another fifteen hundred feet or so to Fawn Lodge. Fun trip and the truck handled the trailer with aplomb.

So funny though, every time I stop to fuel up with this combo, I get offers to buy both!

Thanks! It was a decent Craigslist special to begin with. We have quite a few hours in it and lots of memories.

I finally found some electric fans that would work after a few trips to the junk yard a work buddy ended up having some.

Drove mine 500 miles from St. Louis to Leeds Alabama for the Barber Vintage Festival. The Barber museum is the most amazing place on earth and I hope heaven is as good as this place.

Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

I got home last night, the truck did 1000+ miles with no problems. Mileage was around 17.2 mpg for most of the trip with the cruise set at 80, one tank was only 15.6 heading south into a stiff headwind.

95 lt1 with the gmpp carb intake on it. I swapped in a tbi 350 and 4l60e from a 95 Silverado. I overheated it when my radiator popped and warped a head so I stuck the lt1 in and am running the tbi injection on it.

Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

Drove mine into work today. Thinking I need to rejet the carb, might be running a bit lean. Also put another 2 or 3 degrees of timing advance in and see if it starts pinging.

Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

Fired it up and took it around the block. It hasn't been out for a week or so. Parked it so I could put in fresh antifreeze. Winter's almost here. Sorry for the crappy pic.

Re: What did you do WITH your truck today?

Drove to Lowes to buy some new tools for work. The old 6 banger ran well, started on the first try, (pump the gas once, then pull the choke out all the all the way) and the SM420 tranny shifted nicely. The damn polyurethane cab mounts are making noise, guess I need to grease them.
No "Wanna sell it?" comments this time, which is OK, was getting tired of saying no.

God, I love that old truck.
